Letter to Parents

Staff and students at Finham Park School on Green Lane were delighted with their GCSE examination results today. There were many happy faces, students who have achieved fantastic results and are either able to remain in our Sixth Form; proceed to college courses and apprenticeships or start other work-based training around the region. The attainment of our students was once again extremely high and I would like to congratulate each individual on the progress they have made and thank their parents for the support they have given to their sons and daughters on their journey to this point.

Almost 80% of students achieved the new equivalent of 5 A*-C in five subjects including English and Mathematics, while our brightest individuals achieved the new Grade 9 in English and Mathematics. 85% of students achieved 9-4 in English and 82% of students achieved 9-4 in Mathematics. 77% of students achieved 9-5 in English and 59% of students achieved 9-5 in Mathematics. We look forward to receiving our Progress 8 measure for this cohort later in September.

Finham Park is a popular, successful and exciting secondary comprehensive school, located in the south-west of Coventry. The school became an 'Outstanding' convertor to Academy status in August 2011. Currently oversubscribed, the school attracts students from across the city.

Standards are consistently above national averages - a credit to the students, their families and our staff. We are a High-Performing Specialist School in Mathematics and Computing and also have National Support School and Leading Edge status. Additionally, we offer a large and ambitious community education programme, which has around 1,000 people enrolled onto a wide range of courses.
